Many people are alive but don’t touch the miracle of being alive.
~Thich Nhat Hahn
Mindfulness is a mental training practice that teaches our guests to slow down racing thoughts, let go of negativity, and calm both the mind and body. It is a process of combining meditation with the practice of mindfulness, which can be defined as a mental state that involves being fully focused on "the now". This enables guests to acknowledge and accept their thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judgment.
Lisa uses a variety of techniques but in general, mindfulness meditation involves combining the breath along with the awareness of body and mind. She is certified as a mindfulness instructor through the Breathe 4 Change 200-hour program and is also a continuous student of Thich Nhat Hahn.
Mindfulness hikes and walks are also a part of "the work" at The Sylvan Well and can be scheduled upon registration.
